Who says exes can’t be friends? Just ask, Christina Milian who is still close with her ex Lil Wayne.
During a appearance on “The Meredith Vieira Show” promoting the second season of her reality show "Christina Milian Turned Up" on Monday, the 34-year-old opened up about her relationship with the rapper that ended last month.
We are still friends,” Milian told Vieira. “I think we understood that the relationship is just not working at the moment for us and we are both extremely busy and rather than try to force it and make something work that’s just not working in the moment, we’re like let’s just settle and chill out for a second.”
The former couple filmed and released a sexy music video for her single “Do It” a couple of weeks ago. The video generated buzz because there were sparks flying between the two even though they were no longer a couple.
“We were perfectly fine. The chemistry was still there, it’s not gone at all," she said, "We are grown-ups about it.”
Milian and Wayne, 33, split last month after about a year of dating. The longtime friends got together in 2014, but kept it under wraps until Milian started dropping hints. She confirmed their relationship earlier this year.
Sources said their busy schedules and distance put an end to their relationship.
In another interview with HuffPost Live this week, Milian said the two still love each other.
“And I think the best thing to do is preserve our friendship and not ruin it with trying to force it,” she said. “When it comes to him, we still love each other, so it’s just appreciating each other and just chilling out. No drama.”
Milian said they are constantly texting regardless of their split.
